"A" Headset Inline Quick Disconnect

The "A" measures 5" long x 1/2" in diameter and features male and female halves. When an optional headset inline quick disconnect is installed during the manufacturing process, it ultimately provides an operator the ability to separate his upper headset from the entire lower assembly which includes the female half of the QD, the PTT assembly and radio interface cable with radio connector. By purchasing this option an operator can lock down his lower cables and PTT assembly with cable ties, leaving it on his vest at all times while the headset can be quick disconnected from the lower and stored in a gear bag or helmet when not in use. Unlike the "B" inline, the "A" is not a bayonet style quick disconnect, rather, the male portion of the "A" includes 6 small inner poles that must be mated with 6 small openings in the female half for coupling. It is not as operator friendly as the 'B" or "WP" versions but remains popular among some agencies. As mentioned in the "B" description, the "A" provides the same benefits of separating the upper headset from the lower assembly. The "A" Inline QD is a water resistant design.
